Novena Each Day
Beginning Saturday 11th May
Opening Prayer
Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created. And You shall renew the face of the earth.
The opening Prayer is followed by the Scripture reading, reflection and short prayer for each day given

Then the concluding Prayer
We stand before You, Holy Spirit, as we gather together in Your name. With You alone to guide us, make Yourself at home in our hearts; Teach us the way we must go and how we are to pursue it. We are weak and sinful; do not let us promote disorder. Do not let ignorance lead us down the wrong path nor partiality influence our actions. Let us find in You our unity so that we may journey together to eternal life and not stray from the way of truth and what is right. All this we ask of You, who are at work in every place and time, in the communion of the Father and the Son, forever and ever. Amen

Intention: For the Gift of faith
'These are the signs that will be associated with believers'

For Reflection
What are the signs that I am a person of faith?
Prayer
Holy Spirit may the presence of Jesus shine through my words and actions each day.
Day 2
Intention: For the Gift of Joy
Ask and you will receive, and so your joy will be complete.

For Reflection
Do I radiate the Joy of living the Gospel of Jesus?
Prayer
Holy Spirit fill me with the Joy of the Gospel.
Day 3
Intention: For the gift of Hope
In the world you will have trouble, but be brave: I have conquered the world.’

Am I a person of Hope even in the midst of troubles and difficulties?
Prayer
Holy Spirit fill my heart with the gift of Hope born of Jesus' resurrection.
Day 4
Intention: For the Gift of Friendship
You are my friends, if you do what I command you.

Do you value your freindship with the Lord and others?
Prayer
Holy Sprit help me to grow in freindship with Jesus and those wtih whom I shere this world
Day 5
Intention: For the Gift of Knowledge
Consecrate them in the truth; your word is truth.

Do you nourish your life with the Word of God on a regular basis?
Prayer
Holy Spirit may the Truth that is Christ set me free
Day 6
Intention: For the Gift of Unity
May they all be one. Father, may they be one in us, as you are in me and I am in you,

Jesus desires unity among his disciples. Am I a person of unity and communion?
Prayer
Holy Spirt may I always be an instrument of unity. Heal all divison in me and my relationships
Day 7
Intention: For the Gift of Love
‘Lord, you know everything; you know I love you.’

For Reflection
Do I show Love of the Lord in looking after others in feeeding them with the food of empathy and compassion?
Prayer
Holy Spirit may my heart burn with Love for God and my sisters and brothers
Day 8
Intention: For the Gift of Gratitude
There were many other things that Jesus did; if all were written down, the world itself, I suppose, would not hold all the books that would have to be written.

Do I take for granted the action of God in my life? Am I a person of gratitude?
Prayer
Holy Spirit give me a grateful heart like Mary for all the marvels the Lord has done in and throguh me. Holy is his Name.
Day 9
Intention: For the Gift of Peace
'Receive the Holy Spirit'

For Reflection
The Holy Spirit is the source of peace and forgiveness. Do I forgive? Am I a peacemaker?
Prayer
Holy Spirit fill my heart with the Peace of Christ. Make me an instrument of your Peace
